At 4K Equipment, we make it our priority to ensure that every machine control system we deliver is ready to work efficiently, reliably, and with minimal downtime. One of the most popular solutions we provide is the CAT GB124, a proven grade control system designed for accuracy and durability in demanding jobsite conditions.

If you’re considering purchasing or renting a GB124, here’s exactly what the process looks like when you work with us, and how quickly you can be up and running.

How the GB124 Arrives

When your GB124 ships from 4K Equipment, it arrives securely packaged on an 8’ x 8’ pallet, standing roughly four feet tall. To protect the system during transit, the masts are removed and safely strapped to the pallet. All components are neatly organized, including a dedicated equipment case that holds your accessories and cables.

The radio is typically left mounted, and all wiring is already in place, saving you time during setup.

Straightforward Setup Process

Getting started is simple and efficient:

  • Install and secure the masts: Position each mast into its designated mounting location on the blade and thread the bolts into place. Tighten the masts fully to ensure they are straight, secure, and stable. Properly installed masts are critical for accurate receiver performance.
  • Hook up your MS975 receivers: Mount the MS975 receivers onto the installed masts and lock them into place. Once installed, verify the receivers are secure and properly aligned.
  • Connect the coil cables: Match both coil cables to its corresponding connection points on the grader blade and the MS975s and secure the connections firmly. Make sure the cables are routed cleanly and away from any moving components to prevent damage during operation.
  • Mount and plug in the in-cab display: Inside the cab, mount the display using the suction mount on a clean, visible surface that allows easy access for the operator. Plug the display into the machine’s power and data connections, then confirm the screen powers on and communicates with the system correctly.

Once inside the cab, you’ll load your project files, complete a site localization, and match your base frequency. From there, it’s just a matter of pressing Auto, and you’re ready to start grading with confidence.

Communication Options That Fit Your Job

We offer both 450 MHz and 900 MHz radio options, allowing you to choose the setup that best fits your site conditions and operational needs.

For compact cabs, especially skid steers, we often recommend the TD510 display. Its smaller footprint provides excellent visibility and functionality without taking up valuable cab space.
