Trimble GPS Daily Machine Control Set Up

Trimble GCS900 GPS Machine Control

  • Make sure you have the Trimble equipment
    • Machine Display - Trimble CB430 or CB460
    • Receivers - Trimble MS990 , MS992, or MS995 Antennas
    • Two coil cables
  • Set the two antenna receivers (MS990 / MS992 / MS995) on top of the masts - make sure to completely tighten the brackets
  • Plug in the coil cables to the machine and the receivers
  • Hook up the CB430 or CB460 display to the bracket in the cab and plug it in
  • Make sure the machine is on, then power the CB430 or CB406 display - it will take a minute to power up
  • Once the display is powered select the menu button
  • Scroll down to Restore settings, select OK
  • Highlight Machine Settings, select OK
  • Highlight the machine you are on, Select OK
  • If any messages appear, select OK
  • Select Back
  • Scroll up to Select Design, Select OK
  • Highlight the current Project your on with the most current date, select OK
  • At the top it should say Select Design: Your job name
  • Select Back
  • The job should be shown along with your machine on it.
  • Using the Scroll button , scroll until the Northing, Easting, and Elevation page shows up
  • Verify with the Trimble rover that the tips are accurate within 0.15 ft
  • Switch between tips by selecting the button next to the blade tip symbol
  • If its within that accuracy then scroll to the page desired using this button
  • Do a 20’ pass in autos and make sure you are accurate within a 0.10 ft
  • Once that checks out you are ready to push dirt
